The TX12.0, the latest creation here at Legend, is our most aerodynamic and cutting-edge road bike. A product that completes our range of carbon fiber bikes. A bike, completely new and different from the others we produced, intended for all those who enjoy a racing and snappy riding style.
The design and project of the frame, made entirely in-house, features a rear stay with lowered seat stays. A factor that gives more responsiveness and rigidity to the entire bike and allows for better transmission of power expressed on the pedals. This modern shape also leaves the seatpost area cleaner and instead goes to fill a void in the middle of the seat tube.
The rear stay is also shortened thanks to a recess in the seat tube, which allowed us to gain about 5 mm on the length of the chainstays, where we can still fit tires up to 32 mm. We wanted to give the TX12.0 frame a wing structure, with drop-shaped tubes, which cut air better and make the bike more aerodynamic. We then did carbon reinforcement on the headset and bottom bracket shell to further stiffen them.
The result is a rigid and responsive racing bike with a shorter wheelbase, suitable for races and granfondos. The fork has a custom-designed geometry and the headset is as low as possible to be able to stand aero and aggressive on the handlebar. Based on a design created by us at Legend, we created a cutout below the bottom bracket where the electronic shifting battery can be very easily engaged, making it more convenient to insert and remove.
By doing so with the TX12.0 we were able to gain about 30 percent on the stiffness of the rear end, so that there is less power loss. On the other hand, the gain in stiffness on the short and reinforced head tube is about 25 percent, to have a more responsive and aggressive bike. The weight of the mounted bike is about 7.2 kg, a remarkable lightness for such a strongly racing and aerodynamic bike.
The LG fork is one of the latest innovations at Legend and manages to offer versatility and…
